After an action-packed season Devonport Services RFC have clinched the title of Regional 1 South West league champions.
The epic showdown took place against rivals Lydney RFC. Though both teams fought hard to claim the title, Devonport emerged victorious with their 24-20 final score; making history for the club with their promotion to National 2 - the first time the club has been promoted to the National League.
A huge moment for the team, SAMURAI are excited to share and celebrate their victory as part of the SAMURAI family and say a huge congratulations to the players for their incredible performance.
Originally established in 1904 as United Services Devonport, Devonport Services RFC have a rich heritage in the English rugby union and are based in Plymouth, Devon. Nicknamed The Sporting Blues, Devonport Services is a rugby club for members of the British Armed Forces, their history including players from the British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and the Royal Marines.
