EXETER CHIEFS WOMEN HEAD TO THE ALLIANZ PREMIER 15S FINAL

EXETER CHIEFS WOMEN HEAD TO THE ALLIANZ PREMIER 15S FINAL

For the first time, Exeter Chiefs Women will head to the Allianz Premier 15s Final after beating opponents Bristol Bears in the semi final on Sunday 22nd May. SAMURAI wants to offer an enormous congratulations to the players for their outstanding performance.

The Women’s Premiership, established in 1990, sees the very best of the women’s rugby clubs in England compete - from the season’s kick off in autumn to the final held in the following June - and to reach the final and be crowned the Allianz Premier 15s League winners. Having returned from their inaugural premier in last season's games, Exeter Women have thrown themselves into the competition, competing fiercely throughout the entire tournament to emerge victorious and take home the Allianz Cup. From this win, Exeter Women were given the opportunity to progress into the semi final of the league, and now are within the chance to win the entire season.

Held at Sandy Park, Exeter Women’s home stadium in Exeter, the semi final against Bristol Bears kicked off with a thrilling first half, with Exeter Women taking an early lead into half-time with the scoreboard showing 21 - 12. With the place in the final at stake, both teams battled relentlessly in the nail biting second half, and Bristol Bear’s managed to overturn Exeter Women’s lead in the 73rd minute. However the game was not over, and with pure courage and dedication the Exeter Chiefs Women’s team pushed back with everything they had to take the victory with a 28 - 24 win.

Such a fantastic effort from both teams, well done to everyone! SAMURAI are proud to supply and support the amazing players of the Exeter Chiefs Women’s team, and we want to wish the best of luck for the final.

The final of the Allianz Premier 15s will be held at the Sixways Stadium, Worcester on Friday 3rd June against Saracens. For more information and results on the Premier 15s Allianz Cup, visit their website here.
