Wales face Surrey Storm in friendly

The Wales ‘select’ squad for next Saturday’s game against Surrey Storm in Guildford has been announced, and see’s many of the faces that competed in Glasgow’s Commonwealth Games return to the court for Wales.

The ‘sell-out’ fixture against Tamsin Greenway’s Storm side, who suffered an agonising last minute loss to Manchester Thunder in last season NSL Grand-Final, takes place on Saturday 25th October at 7pm.

Familiar faces Suzy Drane, Cara-lea Mosley and Chelsea Lewis will be leading the Welsh ‘select’ squad, who will be without Ursula ‘Billy’ Bowers following her retirement after the Glasgow Games. The squad take to the court following the announcement that Trish Wilcox will join Welsh Netball in late November as Head of Elite Performance.

Interim coaches Mel Tuckwell and Julia Longville, both former Welsh International players and coaches, have been busy preparing the squad during the off-season and will be on the bench this weekend.

The Wales and Dragons trials will take place atthe House of Sport, Cardiff on Sunday 16th November 2014 between 10-3pm – and anyone wishing to trial should complete the forms on the Welsh Netball website before attending.
