KENYA HARLEQUINS REACTIVATES ITS PARTNERSHIP WITH SAMURAI SPORTSWEAR

Kenya Harlequins Rugby Club has re-established its partnership with Samurai Sportswear for all its official match day, training, & leisurewear kit in a three-year deal. Samurai will take over from the current kit supplier with immediate effect.

The deal will see all Harlequins players, coaches & staff wearing kit designed and manufactured exclusively for them by Samurai. Harlequins play in the Kenya Cup, the top tier of Kenyan rugby. Many of their players have won international honours in both 15s & 7s. Kenya Harlequins has an affiliation with the English Premier club Harlequins and were given the right to wear the London club’s logo and colours in 1952.

The deal also includes TV advertising rights for Samurai at the Quin’s famous 6,000 capacity RFUEA stadium which is the venue for all international matches and the iconic Safari 7s international tournament.

Stanley Omino, Honorary Secretary of Kenya Harlequins RFC, said:

“Kenya Harlequin FC is delighted to announce a long-term kit deal with Samurai Sportswear. As a club one of our core priorities is to maximise performance on the pitch and continue to build the Kenya Harlequin brand off it. As such we want to provide the best kit the market has to offer to our players, as well as quality leisurewear for our fans. Working with Samurai accords us that.”

Speaking about the partnership, Terry Sands, CEO of Norfolk, UK-based Samurai Sportswear, said:

“We are proud to welcome Harlequins back to the Samurai family. Quins were the first Kenyan club we partnered with eight years ago, and it’s great to have them back. As one of the premier clubs in Africa with their amazing history of producing international caps, and progressive outlook across the game, we are honoured to have been selected. We look forward to serving their players and staff, as well as their famously enthusiastic fans at the RFUEA ground.”
