A day for empowerment and encouragement, SAMURAI are embracing International Women’s Day by continuing to champion the incredible SAMURAI Athletes in women’s rugby.
With the theme for 2024 being ‘Inspire Inclusion’, this year's IWD encourages us all to be advocates for change and work towards achieving gender equality to create a more inclusive environment for women in all aspects of society.
Inspired by the players in women’s rugby, we’re taking the chance to loudly celebrate and show our support of this community and those making a difference to transform the narrative of women’s sports. Going from strength to strength, these players' achievements are inspiring the next generation as they strive to establish better inclusivity in the rugby industry and forge positive changes for women and girls.
A day of global activism, International Women’s Day marks an occasion to celebrate the achievements of women, whether social, economic, cultural or political. IWD is not country, group or organisation specific. Instead, it belongs to all who collectively wish to work towards gender equality.
