HERIOT’S BLUES 1ST XV TAKE THE TENNENT’S NATIONAL 1 TITLE

An enormous congratulations to the Heriot’s Blues 1st XV team for their amazing performance during the final of the Tennent's National League Division One, not only winning the title but also securing their place in the 2022/23 Tennent's Premiership.

The final took place on Saturday 23rd April, seeing teams Cartha Queens Park RFC and Heriot’s Blues 1ST XV battling it out at Cartha Queens Park home-ground, Dumbreck.

Heriot’s Blues took the early lead in the first half with the scoreboard showing 0 - 31. During the second half, Cartha QP fought hard, winning back some points, but the tenacity of Heriot’s Blues meant the final score revealed their victory at 19 - 48.

Established in its current format in 2014, the Tennent's National League Division One (also known as the Scottish National League) is the second tier of the Scottish League Championship and consists of 12 rugby teams. Thanks to their incredible efforts and amazing performances, Heriot’s Blues have now been promoted to the Scottish Premiership - now officially the only club in Scotland to have a Super 6 franchise and both their men’s and women’s amateur teams in the Scottish Premiership.
