ARU took home the victory against Samurai RFC, winning 26-14 in an extraordinary match that took place on Saturday 9th April at Melrose Rugby Club, Scotland. We at SAMURAI are thrilled to have not one but two of our teams in the final - and to applaud them both for their amazing performances.

Dating back to 1883, the Melrose Sevens tournament is the oldest rugby sevens competition in the world that continues to take place to this day. Held every April, each year sees a myriad of teams from across the world compete to win the cup. After being postponed for two years due to the Covid pandemic, 26 rugby teams eagerly competed in a knockout style tournament for a chance to get to the final, with ARU and Samurai RFC coming out on top to battle it out for the cup.

Following on from a touching tribute to former Scottish and Watsonians player Tom Smith, who had sadly recently passed, ARU and Samurai RFC took to the pitch to compete for the cup. By half time, ARU saw themselves neck and neck with their opponents Samurai RFC, with the scoreboard showing 7-7. Despite this, ARU continued to PUSH FORWARD, taking the lead, and prevailing to win the final 26-14.

SAMURAI are honoured to be the official kit suppliers of ARU and immensely proud of the whole team for their incredible performance.
