Exeter Chiefs

ESTABLISHED: 1871

Exeter Rugby Club, now known as Exeter Chiefs, was first formed in 1871 and has grown from a National Division One side to a top Aviva Premiership side with the advent of the professional era of Rugby Union.

Promoted to the top flight in 2010 the Chiefs secured their highest ever finish by clinching fifth place and a Heineken Cup spot at the end of the 2011-12 season. The club picked up their first major silverware by lifting the LV Cup in front of their home fans at Sandy Park in 2014. The Exeter Chiefs celebrated their success in the 2017 AVIVA Premiership when they were declared the champions.

Ever since the Exeter Chiefs and Samurai Sportswear joined forced, they have worked together to create the best kit possible, enabling the club to look and perform at their best. Throughout the existing partnership, Samurai Sportswear and the Exeter Chiefs have worked alongside one another to develop the very highest quality of match shirts.

Advancements in fabrics, after years of working together, can be found on Exeter’s OMG ICONIX™ match shirt. Constructed from a high performance 4D fabric, it works in tandem with each individual athlete, extending movement instead of restricting it; whilst maintaining tensile strength. Other attributes include an integrated collar, GPS pouch, bicep sculpted sleeves, anti-pinch underarms and sculpted diverted side seam panelling, making it increasingly difficult for the opposition to pull down the Chiefs.

“ Since our promotion into the Premiership back in 2010, Exeter Chiefs and Samurai Sportswear have enjoyed a fantastic relationship and shared in some magical moments along the way. They have ensured that our team and our supporters not only look good, but deliver fully on and off the field. We know Samurai are committed to partnering with us not only at home, but also further afield as we look to build the Chiefs brand far and wide around the world. They understand our brand and our heritage and have produced playing kits that not only incorporate those values, but ensure our team and our supporters look good when sporting our colours. ”
