January 19, 2018: Samurai Sportswear has been appointed Official Apparel Partner of the Algarve 7s for the next 3 years.
Samurai will operate an exclusive trade shop at the tournament selling merchandise including rugby shirts, vests, hoodies and caps – during the inaugural Algarve 7s, which will be held from June 1-4 2018 at the magnificent stadium and sports complex in Vila Real de Santo Antonio in Eastern Algarve. Samurai will also offer specially priced match kit and leisurewear for all participating teams (contact details below).
This new agreement between Samurai Sportswear and Sports Ventures (Algarve 7s promoters) will be valid for the next three (3) years. Terry Sands, who founded Samurai Sportswear in 1996, was delighted his company was supporting the Algarve 7s as he has long standing relationships with Portugese Clubs, players and indeed the Portugal National Sevens team. Samurai Sportswear are the current National 7s teams kit supplier.
The Samurai International RFC touring team also has strong ties with Portuguese rugby, previously having won the Lisbon Sevens when Mike Friday scored the winning try against a start studded Penguins team captained by Waisale Serevi!
