Samurai Club Maidstone Awarded RFU's Prestigious Seal of Approval

Samurai is very proud to announce that one of our clubs, Maidstone rugby, has been awarded the RFU's prestigious Whole Club Seal of Approval.

Maidstone is only the fifth club to achieve this among approximately 60 across the country. The project was spearheaded by Chairman, Andy Golding and Wendy Pound who in conjunction with a number of other club members, notably Des Diamond and Charlotte Walker on the coaching coordination and safeguarding aspects, have worked hard to achieve all the organisational standards and criteria to meet the rigorous RFC award.

The RFU Seal of Approval accreditation recognises the effort and achievement of the club and its volunteers in reaching the standard required in the development of rugby across the whole club, and to plan for the long term sustainability of both the club and the sport.

The Seal of Approval scheme was originally introduced by the RFU several years ago and originally focused on Mini & Youth sections. It was a response to the development by Sport England, of the Clubmark award which is designed to recognise safe and quality provision for young people.  The Whole Club Seal of Approval process was subsequently introduced to extend the process and the accreditation, beyond the Mini & Youth section and into the whole club.

This is a fantastic achievement for Maidstone and the Samurai Team are pleased to have such a club on board. We would like to wish Maidstone all the luck in the Shepherd Neame Kent Cup.
