Samurai Sportswear Win with Welsh Netball
It is with great excitement that Samurai Sportswear can announce that they have signed a contract with Welsh Netball to become their kit and equipment supplier for the next four years. This contract was won after an extensive tendering process in which Samurai Sportswear have now been appointed to provide match day and training clothing for the Wales senior international team, all Wales age group squads, the Celtic Dragons and Junior Dragons with effect from the 2011-12 season.
This partnership is a fantastic opportunity for Samurai Sportswear to work with Welsh netball who are a highly recognisable and successful national squad. They have done phenomenally well and Samurai Sportswear are looking forward to ensuring that they meet the team’s needs and expectations, and provide them with high quality performance kit which enables the team to look fantastic and play to their best ability. Sales Director from Samurai Sportswear, Richard Brand speaks about the prospects of the partnership between Samurai Sportswear and Welsh Netball, “Welsh netball is a forward thinking squad which matches Samurai Sportswear down to a T. During the Welsh Netball kit design process, we used unreleased dress designs with cutting edge fabrics, to guarantee a truly bespoke feel to their Samurai experience. Working with such an elite team created great synergies with Samurai. We are delighted to have a national team on board so we can work together to develop their kit further”. Being a bespoke kit manufacturer, it is essential that Samurai understand the requirements of a club and the sport that they play. Working alongside national squads such as Welsh Netball will enable Samurai to push their expertise further.
Welsh Netball is the first international netball team to come on board at Samurai and is a very important addition to their portfolio of top clubs. The partnership will create awareness of Samurai being a top suppler if netball kit and enhance their reputation in the multisport arena. Head coach Melissa
Hyndman comments about why Welsh Netball decided to choose Samurai Sportswear as their kit provider. “The reason we went with Samurai Sportswear is because we were excited that we would be the first international team to have our kit designed with them and it added an element of freshness to the relationship. We really liked that Samurai Sportswear were so enthusiastic about working with us and how hands on and involved they were when it came to designing the kit. We felt that this was a perfect chance to work with Samurai Sportswear to expose something so big and powerful. Wales netball is becoming popular and recognised internationally especially since the World Cup in Singapore, where we came 9th. There has been a big turnaround for Welsh netball and we are in for an exciting time on the circuit. This will provide an excellent opportunity for Samurai sportswear as there are lots of people watching us and becoming more interested, we have just imported three players to play for Wales which adds a different flavour to the team. Being a kiwi coach, I am determined to see Wales in the top six in the world and I'm looking for a turnaround in another 1 to 2 years, it’s fantastic to have Samurai Sportswear with us”.
