KENT CCC
Samurai Sportwear is delighted to introduce its newest range of sportswear; equipment for Kent County Cricket Club. Throughout last season, Kent met with various kit manufacturers and their players were kept fully informed of the discussions along the way. Many companies tendered for the business but,in the end, it came down to producing high quality at an affordable price and Samurai won the contract.
Already famed for our vast array of rugby clothing, we are delighted to diversify into the cricket market and have already received some positive feedback from all concerned at Kent. Their star all-rounder, Azhar Mahmood, called it ‘the best kit he has played in'. When you consider that he has represented Pakistan at international level, this is quite a testimonial.
We have already produced Kent's four-day LV County Championship kit as well as their traditional one-day clothing. We are now working on the new Twenty20 kit and will shortly launch a new exciting range.
Finance Director, Neil Bridgstock, played a key role in helping to develop the new range of clothing, along with Sales Consultant Paul Motum. Both enjoy playing club cricket and took on board the thoughts of all at Kent County Cricket Club before launching the new range. Naturally there were several prototypes and it took a lot of hard work to come up with the finished product but the positive response that we have received would indicate that the kit is highly regarded.
Kent 's Operations Director, Jon Fordham, said: ‘The kit is very impressive. We talked to a number of companies before deciding to go with Samurai Sportswear. As with anything, it is important to get quality goods at the right price. I would liketo thank Samurai for the way in which they have worked with us on this project. They have moved into another sport effortlessly and we, here at Kent, are well pleased with the finished products. The players feel good in their new kit; hopefully that will show in their on-field performances'!
After getting to the final of both the Twenty20 Cup and the Friends Provident Trophy last season, we naturally hope that Kent will be able to go one step better this season and win a trophy or two. If they are successful, then they will certainly look posh on the podium; all at Samurai Sportswear naturally wish them nothing but success in their pursuit of silverware.
